Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke, SAN, confirmed on Tuesday that close to 650,000 Nigerians have been internally displaced in the North Eastern part of Nigeria since the Boko Haram insurgency began in the region. Adoke also said that there are also one million Nigerians who are now refugees in neighboring countries of Cameroun, Chad and Niger. “This situation has posed grave humanitarian problems in the affected areas, including the neighboring countries.” The AGF disclosed this in a speech at the high level segment of the 28th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council held in Geneva, Switzerland. He noted with regrets that the situation has caused grave humanitarian situations in the affected areas. According to him: “Nigeria’s experience in combating terrorism and insurgency perpetrated by the Boko Haram sect in North-Eastern Nigeria, and our common borders with Chad, Niger and Cameroun, clearly demonstrates the relevance and potency of international cooperation and solidarity in tackling this scourge.” Adoke, however, pointed out that

The US had on November 12, 2014, defended its refusal to sell cobra helicopters to Nigeria, saying the Federal Government was free to buy fighter jets from any other country.
The State Department's spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said, 'Nigeria has purchased helicopters that originated in countries other than the US and nothing in our decision prevents Nigeria from obtaining weapons and equipment from other sources,'
Psaki had reacted to the allegation by the Nigerian Ambassador to the US, Prof. Adebowale Adefuye, that Washington declined to sell arms to Nigeria.

Suicide Bombers Kill At Least 50 in Maiduguri Market
A female assailant and another suicide bomber on Tuesday killed an estimated 50 people, witnesses has said, the successive blasts occurred in late morning, peak hours for shoppers frequenting what is called the Monday Market in Maiduguri, said Mustapha Musa, a trader who witnessed the attacks. Despite the market’s name, it is open all days of the week.
The first blast came from a woman, said Mr. Musa and other witnesses. Her body lay on the ground, most of it burned except her wig. The second—a far larger blast—came shortly after from another militant standing nearby, said Mr. Musa and others in the crowd.
Mr. Musa identified the second bomber as a man and estimated as many as 50 people died in the twin blasts. A crowd pointed to what they said was his body, which was badly burned and headless.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman said the second blast came from a woman, not a man, and gave a lower death toll of at least 20.

US Probes Allegations ISIS Used Chemical Weapons
The U.S. is investigating claims that Islamic State militants used chemical weapons against Iraqis last month, in what would be a serious escalation of the fighting in the region.
Iraqi officials have told media outlets that the terror group used chlorine gas bombs during clashes in September near Baghdad.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest and a spokesman with the Pentagon could not confirm the reports but said they are taking them “seriously” and investigating the claims.
"We continue to take all allegations of chemical weapons use -- and in particular these recent allegations regarding the use of chlorine as a chemical weapon -- very seriously,” Pentagon spokesman Col. Steven Warren said in a statement. “The use of chlorine as a chemical weapon is an abhorrent act.”

In a press statement released on Saturday, signed by Augustine Alegeh, on October 11, the NBA said that Mr. Wali, its 26th President, was kidnapped by unknown persons at about 9 p.m on Saturday.
“Okey Wali SAN is a man of peace who has not only contributed immensely to the enthronement of rule of law and protection of human rights, but also to the development of our Nation,” the statement says.

"New Boko Haram Video Is Fake," Defence Headquarters Claim

In its statement, the DHQ is insisting that Shekau is dead, and the video fake.
See the statement below:
The Defence Headquarters is studying the claims made in the video purportedly released by the terrorists showing their leader Abubakar Shekau as dismissing his death. From immediate observation and what some online news outlets claimed to have seen, the video did not indicate when it was shot neither did it show any proof of life or currency such as screen time or date. The video also did not make any reference to anything that has happened since the impostor’s reported death.
It is also noteworthy that the air plane said to be mentioned in the video had been missing before he was killed. It should not surprise anybody if the terrorists decide to manipulate pictures, clone another Shekau or upload a pre-recorded video all in a bid to prove invincible.

I Will Reveal Bigger Sponsor of Boko Haram Soon - Australian negotiator
The Australian priest who tried to negotiate the release of the over 200 Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram, says he will in due course name ‘bigger sponsors’ of the sect.
Dr.Stephen Davis who has already named former governor of Borno state, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and former chief of army staff, Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, as backers of the sect told the on-line publication ,The Cable, that the sponsors “epitomise all that the Boko Haram fighters are seeking to eliminate from Nigeria.”
He dismissed insinuation that Boko Haram commanders named the All Progressives Congress (APC) as their sponsor.
“ I have been in close contact with the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) and Boko Haram over several years. In that time, I have never heard any political party mentioned by any Boko Haram leader as funding or being associated with Boko Haram,” he said.
