Why I divorced my Husband — Ini Edo finally Reveals

Still on the matter; It is no more news that Nollywood diva and producer, Ini Edo’s marriage to her US-based husband, Philip Ehiagwina, has crashed. The marriage was said to have crashed a few weeks ago, but the couple decided to keep the news away from the public.

While the marriage lasted, there were reports that Ini Edo was not enjoying her marriage mainly because her husband did not reside in Nigeria.

The stress of going over to the US to check on her ex-husband was said to have contributed largely to the eventual break up the marriage suffered.

Ini Edo, in an interview sometime ago, managed to keep her marital problems away from the media and preying eyes, but apparently she could not continue to deny that things had gone bad with her marriage when news filtered into town that she had concluded plans to break up with his husband after marrying for five years.

I HAVE NOT HAD S*X SINCE I LOST MY HUSBAND IN 1984, IYA RAINBOW

Iya Rainbow in a new chat with Punch has talked about her career and life as a widow, it's quite an interesting read: How did you get the stage name Iya Rainbow? The name of my late husband’s group is Osumare Theatre and I was always referred to as Mama Osumare but there was a day I did a movie for the English-speaking section of the industry and the name of the film is The Vow. In the movie, robbers came to my house and killed my child and I was meant to react like anyone would in real life. I cried and tore my clothes. After the director yelled cut, I was still crying, so some Igbo boys on set came to ask why I was still crying. They wanted to call my name but could not pronounce Osumare, so I told them it meant rainbow in English. They were amazed and said they would be calling me Mama Rainbow which they felt was easier and that was how the name stuck.

Were you born in Lagos? Yes, I was born in Lagos but my parents were from Odogbolu, Ijebu, Ogun State and they were staunch Christians. My father was a prophet before he died. I attended the school of nursing to train as a nurse. I worked at several general hospitals before I retired in 1986 after 20 years of service. It seems crying profusely in movies comes naturally to you, how do you do it? I often remember some painful

At over 40, you still look like a teenager. How do you stay this fit, young and pretty?
It’s amazing, I don’t know. But I love to look good and dress well and not because it’s too expensive. If it’s expensive I won’t wear it because you know I pay children’s school fees (laughs). But if it looks very good on me, I won’t really mind. I love to look decent and smart all the time. And about my looks, I don’t really know because I don’t exercise or do anything to keep fit. I don’t even go to gym. I think I got this stature

Having Kids Is Not On My Plans For Now - Blessing Okagbare

Nigerian track/field athlete and world medalist Blessing Okagbare who got married to her Nigerian soccer heartthrob Igho Otegheri in Sapele, Delta State few weeks ago. said she has no plan on having kids for now. She tells TM mag;

“A family, hahaha, I am not planning about that now. At the moment I have goals that must be accomplished and other things to be achieved professionally, so starting a family immediately after my wedding is actually not in the schedule for me right now, no way. Honestly, we have already talked about it and my hubby knows what I do for a living. We have talked about it and he knows there are things I must get done in my career which are very important to me.
Having kids now is out of it, there are things in my career that must be accomplished before we start thinking of building a family. After my wedding the next agenda is to accomplish all the things I have set out to achieve and that is it, not having babies, this will surely come later.”

How was growing up like for you?
I grew up in a polygamous family. I stayed with my mom all through and it wasn’t easy because I was never allowed to mingle and go out. I don’t know how I’ll put it but it was just challenging

Were your parents strict when you were growing up?
Yeah, my mom was extremely strict; they call her ‘Thatcher’. She is a kind of mom who wouldn’t allow you to mix with others. After school, she would tell you to stay put in your room and even restrict you from visiting family members.
