Babasuwe Set To Remarry 5 Years After Death Of Comedienne Wife Moladun

Babatunde Omidina known as Baba Suwe is one of the Yoruba movie industry's most succesful comedians, with hundreds of successful movies to his credit.
In a recent interview he opened up on publicized crisis with National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, and revealed that he will be remarrying 5 years after he lost his wife, Omoladun, a comedienne who acted alongside with him as his wife, in some films.

When did you begin to act?
I started acting at 18 when I dropped out of secondary school, then I was in form four. I developed the passion when Baba Mero and his group came to Children boarding school in Osogbo to act. After watching them, I got drums and other musical instrument, picked some guys in my street like Mufitau Ilumoka, Sola Taiwo and a host of others and formed a theater group. And that was what metamorphosed into the brand ‘Baba Suwe’ today.

Dennis Akagha, the fiance of Justina Ejelonu, the First Consultant Hospital nurse who died after being infected with the deadly Ebola virus by Liberian Patrick Sawyer, in this exclusive interview with Vanguard spoke about how his late fiancee contracted the deadly disease, how she lost their unborn child while battling with Ebola, and also revealed that Justina had just landed the job at the hospital and met Sawyer on her first day there. He also spoke on how he got infected with the virus and how he finally got discharged.

"The truth is that Justina and I were not legally married, we were planning for our traditional marriage in October and she just got this job. She was a qualified graduate nurse and got the job at the First Consultant Hospital in Lagos. She resumed duty at the hospital on the 21st of July, while Patrick Sawyer was admitted at the hospital on the 20th. He was her first patient. She was one of the nurses that nursed him. She was

EFCC Press Release: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, on Thursday August 28, 2014, re-arraigned Adedamola Ogungbayibi, Olaniran Olabode, Suraju Gasali, Moses Emmanuel, Wilson Bonsi, Padoun Kayode Jacob, Okparaodi Omaka Uche and Onyeogo Happy before Justice O.E. Abang of a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on a 5-count charge bordering on conspiracy and illegal dealing in petroleum product.
They were originally arraigned before Justice Saliu Seidu of the same court on June 16, 2014.
The defendants got into trouble on February 19, 2014, when they were arrested by men of the Nigerian Navy who were on routine patrol.
The Nigeria Navy Ship ANDONI intercepted MT Good Success and its sixteen member crew , along the Lagos waters.

An Egyptian jihadist group on Thursday (Aug 28) released a video in which it claimed responsibility for beheading four men accused of being "Israeli informants" before showing the victims' decapitated bodies

In the video, militants belonging to Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, considered the deadliest jihadist group in Egypt,say they killed the men in the restive Sinai Peninsula for assisting neighbouring Israel. Their bodies were found in Sheikh Zuweid town on August 20, two days after they were abducted, security officials said.

The footage shows the kidnapped men confessing to assisting Israel in a drone strike in July that killed three militants near the border with the Jewish state. At the time, Egypt's military said it had killed the extremists.

After the confession, a masked man reads a statement that threatens Israel and its "collaborators". He begins to cut the victims' necks before they are then shown dead, with their disembodied heads placed on their backs. The group is believed to have carried out its first beheading in 2012 - kidnapping and murdering a man they accused of assassinating a militant.

President Jonathan today August 28th launched the new national e-ID card at the presidential Villa in Abuja. The new e-ID card which is powered by MasterCard is a multi-purpose card for identification, electronic signatures, and can be used for depositing money, withdrawing and making payments. it serves as ID card and ATM.
The first phase of the project will see 13million Nigerians issued the card while the next phase will target 100million Nigerians. The project is a partnership with MasterCard, the Nigerian National Identity Management Commission and Access bank. NIMC is working with several government agencies to integrate and harmonize all identity databases including the Driver’s License, Voter Registration, Health Insurance, Tax, SIM and the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) into a single, shared services platform. BBC Confirms that Ebola has officially spread to Port Harcourt!

Nigeria has confirmed its first Ebola death outside Lagos – A doctor in Nigeria's who works with oil industry hub of Port Harcourt has died from Ebola fever, while a further 70 people in the city are under surveillance. the doctor was infected by man linked to the first case in Africa's most populous country, the Health Ministry said this on Thursday.

Heath Ministry spokesman Dan Nwomeh said the doctor had treated a primary contact of Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian who brought Ebola to Lagos.

Enugu Assembly Impeaches Deputy Gov For Rearing Chickens.

The Enugu State House of Assembly has removed the state’s Deputy Governor, Sunday Onyebuchi, from office this morning.
Mr Onyeabuchi was removed for operating a commercial poultry at his official residence and of disobeying Governor Chime, charges that, under the law, do not qualify as impeachment offences.
In fact, the deputy governor’s removal is believed to have been masterminded by Governor Sullivan Chime, who interestingly was accused by his impeached deputy of operating a piggery at the Government House.

The impeached deputy governor told the impeachment panel set up by the state’s chief judge last Wednesday that Mr. Chime also operated a piggery at the Government House.
Giving evidence before the panel , Mr. Onyebuchi said the governor’s poultry was hurriedly evacuated shortly after the panel commenced sitting.
Mr. Onyebuchi revealed that the state government had budgeted for the maintenance of the poultry since 2011.

Udate: 480 Nigerian Soldiers Flee Boko Haram, take refuge in Cameroon

Atleast 480 Nigerian soldiers have fled into Cameroon following fierce fighting with Boko Haram insurgents. The Cameroonian Army Spokesman, Lt Col Didier Badjek, who confirmed this, said the troops had already been disarmed.
But the Director of Defence Information, Maj. -Gen Chris Olukolade, said the soldiers merely strayed into Cameroon and therefore were not “deserters.”
Badjek told the British Broadcasting Corporation on Monday that the disarmed Nigerian soldiers were being accommodated in schools in Maroua, about 80 kilometres from the Nigerian border.
It is gathered that Boko Haram insurgents had at about 5.15am on Monday invaded Gamboru, forcing both civilians and soldiers to flee to Cameroon.
One of the residents who called from Cameroon, said the insurgents went straight to attack the military base and police station in the town. He said an initial attack was repelled by the military which killed many of the insurgents. The resident added that about two hours later, the insurgents regrouped and launched a fresh attack on the troops.He said.

"The reality of this particular offer is if the girls are ready for another form of separation from their parents. However, we have initiated discussions with some leadership of the Chibok community and at some point will meet with them and the parents for consent," she said.

Sokomba however said that they hope that the funds and support partnership will consistently get to RROM

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau has said in a video that his fighters are grateful to “Allah who gave them the victory to attack Abuja and also the Yobe town called Damaturu and many other northan part of Nigeria” In his characteristic rambling manner, he added, “We still thank God for the successful bombing of Damboa and other parts of Nigeria. We are grateful to Allah for the big victory he granted our members in Gwoza and made the town part of our Islamic Caliphate.”

The scan was done and a doctor told us that she is about 7 months pregnant. He thinks there there could be a problem with the legs of the child, but he wasn’t sure. We took the little girl to Amecet, gave her food and one of the staff has spend some time
with her this afternoon. To see if she knows what’s going on.

She is really a child and is even happy that she gets a baby. It will be a big problem, she is too small for a natural birth, it probably should be a caesarian. She played Memory with the other children and I could cry, to see her sitting there with that big belly, this will be really a child with a child. And while she should be able to play and have fun, she is getting a baby.

The father of Nigerian musician duo, 2Face Idibia, is dead. He died this Saturday evening, sources reveal that Pa Idiabia died at an undisclosed hospital after an unsuccessful battle with Prostrate Cancer.
2Face, at a charity event a while back in Ikoyi, Lagos State, revealed that his dad had prostrate cancer.

"Two bankers, Rowland Alozie, Segun Osho and their accomplice, Abass Kolawole have been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, for alleged conspiracy and fraudulent conversion of Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue Cheque for nine million, five hundred and fifty-four thousand, two hundred and eighty six naira, (N9554,286, 00)." the two suspect, Rowland and Segun who work at Access Bank, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt branch collaborated to convert an Ecobank

A couple who live in Asaba, Delta State, Benson Ogwu and his wife, who have been married for 16 years without a child, yesterday set ablaze their Bible around Bonssac quarters for not having children.

Islamic State Terrorist Who Beheaded US Journalist Is British, Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond Reveals

Mr Hammond said the video showing the apparent execution of Mr Foley by a masked man with a British accent looks ‘genuine’.
He said the brutal Islamic State clip of Mr Foley, who went missing in Syria two years ago, was ‘an appalling example of the brutality of this organisation’.

In the video Mr Foley is seen kneeling in a desert-like environment at an unknown location as an IS fighter stands by his side dressed in black and with his face covered.
Mr Hammond said the video had not been verified but ‘all the hallmarks point to it being genuine’.
The Foreign Secretary said his reaction to the clip was ‘horror, absolutely horror at what appears to be a brutal execution’. He added: ‘On the face of it, it appears to be a British person.’
Mr Hammond said: ‘certainly at first pass that's what it looks like and we will obviously want to investigate that further.

National Conference proposed New Map of Nigeria

The National Conference in its final report recommended the creation of 18 additional states to bring the number of states in the country to 54.
The recommendation was made by the Committee on Political Restructuring and Forms of Government jointly headed by Ike Nwachukwu and Mohammed Kumalia.
Initially, some Northern delegates kicked against moves to create additional states apart from the one proposed for the South-East which was overwhelmingly supported. But after series of consultations by the leadership of delegations, the Conference unanimously adopted the recommendation for the creation of additional 18 new states.

Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, the Senior Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist who was one of the doctors who attended to Patrick Sawyer at First Consultant Hospital has died from the Ebola virus which she contracted from Patrick Sawyer.
Dr. Ameyo died this afternoon at the isolation unit of the Mainland Hospital in Lagos where she's been quarantined. She died as a hero because she was the doctor who refused to let Patrick Sawyer, leave the First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos, when he attempted to leave. She saved many lives by doing this. may her soul rest in peace.

Cameroon Closes Borders With Nigeria, Over Ebola Scare

Speaking yesterday on a special programme of the Hausa Service of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) monitored in Maiduguri, the spokesman of Cameroon Foreign Affairs, Chiroumma Boukkari said the decision to close the borders with Nigeria has become logical due to the high rate of spreading of the virus in west Africa.

“This decision on border closure and suspension of all flights to and from Nigeria was to protect the lives of Cameroonian citizens living within and outside from contracting ebola..” he said.

“The border closures with our main trading partner will be lifted, as soon as Nigeria contains the spread of the deadly viral disease. We also urge all border security agencies of the two countries to be vigilant by complying with this border closures made yesterday (Saturday) by the foreign office here in Ngaudore,” said Boukkari.

This is unbelivable. Jackie Chan is the anti drug ambassador in China, yet his own son was arrested for allegedly helping drug dealers.
