Five members of the Boko Haram sect and two soldiers were reported to have died during an exchange of gunfire at a hideout in Kano.
A Combined team of Joint Military Task Force (JTF) and Department of State Security Service (DSS) personnel in the early hours of Saturday stormed residential buildings where members of the sect were said to be hiding.
The five terrorists were said to have died in the gun battle which also claimed the lives of two soldiers.
Two AK 47 rifles, 458 rounds of 7.62 special and six AK 47 rifle magazines were recovered from the terrorists’ residences.
