4 Kidnappers Shot Dead In Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command, has arrested four notorious armed robbery and kidnap suspects who have been terrorizing residents of the Coal city and environs.

the Suspects, Ifeanyichukwu Ngene alias German Poison, Chukwuebuka Agbo alias Offor, Tochukwu Aninwewo alias Makojo and Monday Ogbodo alias Montiga were apprehended on 9th July following their alleged involvement in the kidnap of one Afamefuna Ugwu at Ugwuaji axis of Enugu.

the Police Spokesperson, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, disclosed this in a statement to newsmen saying that “the suspects were arrested following a trail by the operatives of the anti kidnap unit of the command.

“They were arrested haven been involved in serials of nefarious activities in the state.

“They allegedly kidnapped one Afamefuna Ugwu on 9/7/14 at Ugwuaji axis of the state and took him to a thick forest at Obeagu,Ugwuaji in Enugu southlocal government area of Enugu state.

“The suspects started demanding the sum of twenty -eight million naira and when the amount was not forthcoming, they reduced it to the sum of one million naira.

“As they were waiting with their victim expecting money to be brought,they were closed up by the eagle eyed operatives of the Anti Kidnap Unit of the state who had been on their trail following the report made to them.”

He assured members of the public that the suspects will be prosecuted in accordance with the law once investigation is completed.
