The former majority leader of the Delta State House of Assembly,
Hon. Aneke Ifemeni on Friday reached out to top leaders of the Ndokwa
Nation, urging them to support the Chairperson, Board of Directors,
Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, Dr. Ngozi Olejeme to be the
governor of Delta State in 2015.
“I have been following the activities of Dr. Ngozi Olejeme. She is
forthright, honest and meek in attitude. She also understands issues of
both economics and socio-political weight and has the capacity to drive
the state in the direction that we want it. So she is just the natural
choice of any Ndokwa person”
Addressing prominent politicians, businessmen and professionals from
Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani Local Government Areas in
Onicha-Ukwuani, Hon Ifemeni outlined the qualities the people should
look for in the next governor of the state.
“The next governor must have self-confidence, strong vision, ability to
articulate the vision and willingness to make radical changes. The
person needs to be compassionate, God fearing and must be in touch with
the common people and be able to galvanize them into action.
“Olejeme is an icon, a role model and the most capable person to be
governor of Delta State in 2015. She is a committed member of the
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and also receptive to new ideas which
are needed in sustaining the Delta beyond oil initiative of the current
administration,” he said.
He warned those working against female governor in the country, urging
traditional rulers, politicians, women and youths in the state to
support the gubernatorial ambition of Olejeme.
Ifemeni who also described Olejeme as a charismatic leader with a
strong moral belief of how things should be, said the NSITF boss is the
perfect person for the governorship job.
He advised her to remain focused and not be intimidated by her sex or the number of men in the governorship race.
“God gives power to whoever He wishes. We are confident and hopeful that
with God on our side, no obstacle can stand in her way to the Delta
State Government House.
“Olejeme is a woman with incredible reach and clout. She is more
accepted in the state than others aspiring to be governor,” he
disclosed.
He lauded Olejeme for her generosity to the people.
“Please keep up the good work, particularly, job creation and
empowerment of the less privileged, the widows and the vulnerable in our
society.”
