The military spokesman of the 3 Division Special Operation Battalion, Captain Eli Lazarus who confirmed the incident in a statement says the insurgents stormed Doruwa, Garin-Baba Village in the early hours of today killing a Pastor and two of his children.
The insurgents according to the statement burnt down a church and two other houses in the village before fleeing the scene.
“In the early hours of Thursday, 26 September 2013, unknown gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists attacked Dorawa village in Nangere local government area of Yobe state.
During the attack, a pastor and his 2 children were killed”
Witnesses say the insurgents who were eight in number stormed the village around 1:00am in the morning, on two motorcycles, and killing three residents before setting ablaze a local church and five other houses in the village.
The statement further revealed that so far, no arrest has been made but efforts are being intensified to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous act.
Captain Lazarus however enjoined law abiding citizens not to relent in providing credible and timely information that could help security agencies to overcome terrorism in the state and the country as a whole.
This latest attack is coming seven days after suspected Boko Haram sect attacked Buni-Yadi, the headquarters of Gujba local government area killing three people and burning several properties in the area.
