Story Part One: 'I did not attempt to marry another woman while married' - Solomon Akiyesi claims

On April 13th 2013 Solomon Akiyesi who attempted to marry another woman in Lagos while he had a wife in Port Harcourt befor his Ex- wife came to disintergrate the marriage. But now Solomon claims he wasn't attempting to marry another woman, that it was all blown out of proportion. this is what he told Encomium magazine...
What happened to the lady you were about to wed in Lagos?
'Let me explain this, I was not going to wed anyone. It is not possible to wed another woman when you have a subsisting marriage. My wife...my ex wife and the woman I was purportedly marrying knew why we did what we did on April 13 2013. But the story became so crafted to look like I was actually going to marry another woman. I took all the shame and shut my mouth. Maybe one day the truth will be revealed. But who would marry a woman in Africa without paying the bride price and other traditional rites? And maybe proper court process. I challenge anyone to come out and say I did any of those processes on another woman beyond my wife. Which of my family members was there at the so called wedding? Who can stand and say I gave them a WEDDING INVITATION for April 13 2013? I did not marry or attempt to marry another woman as overblown by idle minds. I am a man and

The Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has said Nigeria needs strong leadership to overcome its security challenges and not someone who relies on luck to rule.

'Face Your Problems And Leave Us Alone' PDP Tells Al-Makura, APC

Chief Olisa Metuh National Publicity Secretary
August 3, 2014
Press Statement
The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state to face his problems with his people instead of engaging in APC's out-worn antics of blaming the Presidency and the PDP for their self-inflicted woes.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a statement on Sunday said the governor should look inwards and find answers to his challenges as the chief executive of his state instead of
promoting trite excuses of external influences, sponsoring of protests, threatening and unleashing thugs against the state legislators, steps the PDP said will not solve the problem.

Restating that it has no hands in the political development in Nasarawa state, the PDP said the impeachment move against Governor Al-Makura remains a local issue in the state adding that the provisions of the laws and constitution of the nation are very clear on such processes.

"I won’t advise any man to have more than one wife" – OJB Jezreel

OJB Jezreel who has 3 wives says he won't advise any man to have more than one wife. Speaking with Saturday Punch, OJB explains;
City People Entertainment recently honoured you, would you know why it decided to celebrate you?
I think the organisers felt if you have been in business for over 20 years, you deserve to be celebrated. I am not the only one, we are many.

So you have really clocked 20 years in the industry just like that?
I have actually clocked 28 years.

Even before you had the health challenge, you were at the background for some time, nothing much was heard about you. Could it be because the younger ones came and overtook you?

It had nothing to do with the younger ones coming to overtake me. Even if you look at it like that, my prints are still in the younger generation’s works. They all passed through me. My influence is crested in that generation. It had nothing to do with my health. I had to take a breather. I had to be away from activities. You have to reinvent yourself. It mustn’t be work all the time. You have to reinvent your personality and your general persona. I was losing weight as well and I had to work on my weight. That was part of what happened then.

Guy Stabs Girlfriend to Death In Lagos for Refusing to Marry Him in

A 26 year-old girl, Gift Sunday, left her abode in Ketu , Lagos, to meet her boyfriend, Raphael Effiong, who had invited her over on phone on Monday, July 28, 2014. Never, in her wildest imagination, did she envisage that would be her last day on earth.

"I Don't Have a Friend In The Entertainment Industry" - Daddy Showkey

alt
In a Recent interview with the Leadership newspaper Daddy Showkey expressed his disappointment at some of Nigerian artists who didn't bother to attend Kefee's burial, who died recently in America and talked about the time he was sick and how none of his colleagues didn't bother to see how he was doing. He said "I have no friends in the entertainment industry..

"I was disappointed that artistes did not come to show love to their own. It is not a good thing. The lady died and it is sad for her family. Musicians ought to have showed up and rallied round her people, to show that they care. It was only the gospel musicians that showed up, meaning there is no love in this industry. Nobody cares about you if you drop dead tomorrow. I told you I was away for 3 years because of my spinal cord injury. Nobody came to visit me during that time. No one from my generation of singers came to identify with me and that is bad for a man who has given much to the industry. This makes me think that we don’t care about ourselves in this industry. As the Yoruba people say, Oju aaye ni a nse o meaning, na eye service we dey do to oursefu!"he said.
