Senator Ahmed Yerima was interviewed on Channels TV yesterday to shed light on why he is in support of child marriage.
The embattled senator is astonished by the outrage of Nigerians towards his belief that even young girls are fit for marriage.According to him, a girl is ready for marriage
whenever her parents deem it fit.
whenever her parents deem it fit.
He stood his ground even while being grilled by the show presenter and added the little titbit that his own teenage daughter is set to be married this year.

Commander of the Cross River State Immigration Command, Mr Samuel Ichoi, who ordered the arrest of the woman said in his office that his men accosted the lady while boarding a ship to Cameroon and after interrogation, she confessed that she bought the baby..
He said: “The lady came from Cameron on Friday without any sign of pregnancy but this morning (Wednesday) she was found to be carrying a baby and when my men examined her there were no signs that she just gave birth, so she and the baby were apprehended.”
According to Igoche, the lady also claimed that in May last year, she was given some herbs at Okigwe where she “miraculously gave birth to a baby girl who is now in Cameroon.”
However, the lady who said she is a teacher in the North-West region of Cameron said that she gave birth to the baby and that N1.2 million she paid into the account of the matron was for delivery and herbs she gave to her to aid delivery.
She said: “She (matron) said my breast would start producing milk in three weeks but for now the baby is taking baby food.”
According to her, she does not have anybody in Cameroon to take care of her, that was why she came to

SHOCKING: Prophet Ajanaku Was A Cult Member Befor He Died
Prophet Tope Alabi, the estranged spiritual father has already been confirmed dead and the Oro traditional worshippers have conducted a funeral rite for the late pastor.
Oro Worshippers held funeral rites for Prophet Ajanaku. The late founder and spiritual leader of the Christ Revival Victory Chapel International, Pastor Elijah Iretiola Ajanaku belonged to the Oro cult in his lifetime.
Residents of Ikola Odunsi, where Ajanaku lived before he breathed his last on Saturday evening at Gbongan in Osun State, were surprised early Tuesday morning when Oro masquerades went to town in funeral rites for the departed ‘Pastor’.
The funeral rites which began at about 12.30am ended between 3 and 4am.
The Oro worshippers chanted the name of Ajanaku throughout the night. The worshippers marched through the streets of Ikola Odunsi, Ikola Gbenaje, and landed at the deceased’s street, Folarin Williams Close.
They were chanting, “Ajanaku lo, o di gbere”, meaning “Ajanaku is gone forever, adieu”.
For those who knew him before he became a wealthy pastor, Ajanaku became wealthy suddenly about seven years ago.
Before then, those who knew him very well said he lived at Ikola Ilumo and Ikola Odunsi, two close communities in Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA. During this time, he was doing menial jobs to survive.
“He started as a bus conductor with one of the popular drivers plying the Ikola-Iyana Ipaja route in the area. Later, he ventured into tyre repairing which many know as vulcanising. For about a year, he was doing vulcanising job at one of the bus stops at Ikola Ilumo,” one of those who knew him then told our correspondent.
“When he realised that money was not coming in from his vulcanising job, he diversified into battery charging. He did it for sometime before he just disappeared for a while and the next thing I heard about him was that he had become a wealthy pastor,” another old friend told our correspondent.
Before he relocated to Lagos from his Gbongan hometown, he was reported to be well known for his mysterious ways in the town. Some even believe he had some supernatural powers. In fact, as his name suggests, Ajanaku was from a well known family of masquerade worshippers in the ancient town.
“When he became a rich pastor, Ajanaku lived like a tin god. He always went around in a convoy of exotic cars and he reserved a bus for young ladies in their teens who always followed him around. You couldn’t talk to him while standing. You had to bow your head or kneel down outright.
“I remember when we did a job for him and it was time to collect money, I had to kneel down before him to collect my money. It was not only me. There were others who came before me and some waiting for their turn after me. All of us were on our knees,” an electrician who lives in Ikola Odunsi narrated to our correspondent.
Although he had many ladies at his beck and call, Ajanaku was legally married to a wife and they had two children: a boy and a girl.

Teenage boy illegally board Arik flight in Benin Airport To Lagos
Confusion Occur today Saturday at the Benin Airport and in what seems to be a serious security breach on a local flight, as a teenage boy stowed away allegedly in the tyre hold of an Arik Aircraft from Benin to Lagos.
The Aircraft with registration number, 5N-MJG Flight 44, left Benin Airport at 9am for Lagos. Top officials of the Edo state government were on board the airline. Passengers aboard the airline were shocked when security agents found the teenager at the Lagos Airport after the aircraft landed. Though none of the officials at the Benin Airport agreed to comment on the issue, but our correspondent observed that the teenager whose name is yet to be ascertained may have entered the airport through the Akenzua road axis due to lack of perimeter fencing at the Airport.
Nigeria Man Open A Car Manufacturing Company In Nigeria And Has Become The World First Black-Owned Car Manufacturer(Video)
A Ngeria man, "Innocent Ifediaso chukwuma" has open a new car manufacturing company in Nnewi, Anambra state (Nigeria)
With the public display of some of the vehicles at the 2nd Nnewi International Auto Trade Fair held at the Beverly Hills Hotels(Gabros Sports Complex) in the last quarter of 2009, IVM did not only silence the critics, but made a bold statement about its readiness to achieve the avowed mission of being the first (indigenous) auto maker to produce truly Nigerian vehicles that are affordable and reliable.
IVM is today a success story which has attracted effusive commendations and awards from various quarters, including the nation's seat of power. While opening the plant on October 15, 2010, President Goodluck Jonathan not only hailed Chukwuma for the courage of venturing into an industry many ran away from, but also assured him of government's patronage from the government.
But even before the President's visit, IVM had attracted an official delegation from the Ghanaian government, which through a minister, dangled incentives before Chukwuma with an appeal to come over to Accra for talks on how he could set up a similar plant in the former Gold Coast.

The youngest among six children, Chief (Dr) Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma (OFR), was born into the family of Mr&Mrs Chukwuma Mojekwu of Uru-Umudim, Nnewi, in Anambra State, without the proverbial silver spoon
in hismouth. But, what he lacked in affluent parental background, he made up for with intelligence, hard-work, discipline and business acumen - qualities that have continued to interplay remarkably in his many ventures. In February 2007, Chukwuma embarked on what some analysts perceived then as a mission impossible, when it incorporated INNOSON Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited (IVM), to produce sundry commercial automobiles, utility vehicles and passenger cars, in collaboration with a consortium of Chinese auto manufacturers.

Pregnant Woman Dies At Hospital With Fake Doctors In Iba Area Of Lagos
The Lagos state police command has arrested a fake doctor whose activities in Cares Hospital located in Iba area of Lagos, has led to the death of several pregnant women.
While parading the doctor alongside staff, it was disclosed that the hospital has been in operation for three years, and has no proof of registration.
“They are fake doctors, they have never gone to any medical schools or any nursing school but they operate a hospital around Iba, the hospital is known as Cares Hospital, they also have a pharmacy there,” the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide revealed.
It was also revealed that the unqualified medical personnel go as far as performing surgeries on patients and take delivery of babies as well which has led to the demise of many pregnant women who patronise the establishment.
“They carry out operations, surgeries; deliver women of their kids as a matter of taking as much as 200 deliveries, meanwhile they are not doctors, they are not even qualified nurses, no knowledge of that they didn’t go to any school and from investigation, we have equally discovered that a lot of women have died there, because they are not real doctors”
One of the suspects also narrated the case of a victim who was “labouring due to an overdose of Oxytocin induction, she was bleeding, and she bled then and they were not able to arrest the case, as they were leading the woman down from the delivery couch, the woman fell from the bed and died”.
Officer Braide advised patients seeking medical attention to be very careful and mindful of which medical institution they go to for medical services as making a wrong choice may mean risking their lives
Doris Simeon First Interview After Been Dumped For Stella Damasus
Life goes on they say, this is true no matter the circumstances you find yourself. I was glad to bump on this interview with Doris Simeon, the beautiful actress who lost her husband to the charms and beauty of Stella Damasus. Deep down i believe there is more than meets the eyes, so i am not judging any body in this entire saga.
She spoke about her career, her past marriage and what the future holds for her....
What have you been up to lately?
I’ve been doing a lot of things as well as a lot of researches to start up some other things from acting like I’m used to. As a result of that, I’ve successfully done a TV talk show and hopefully, I’m praying to make headway with that. I’m actually opening up to my fans that I can do more than act, like presentation and show host. Basically, that is what I’ve been up to lately.
But has that got you off the scene?
Well, no, it hasn’t stopped me from acting but I would only do that when I’m called or I get a script.
You have successfully produced three (3) movies namely Onitemi, Omo Iya Kan, Asiri, are you working on another movie or you want to put a stop to it?
I’m actually working on two movies come next year and hopefully, I’m praying it becomes a hit like the rest have been or even better. I’m working seriously on all that this year and that is why I haven’t really worked on anything this year or even started production. I want to make proper arrangements before going into the making of the films.
Quickly taking you back to the awards you have won recently, what were the criteria for these awards?
I actually got two awards from the United States of America this year from the people of my hometown, Okpella in Edo State. The award was to appreciate my effort as one of their illustrious daughters in the movie industry and also another one in Nigeria from Eldorado entertainment in honour of my achievements in the industry. Before I went to America, early this year, I got an award from ZAFAA as the best actress in Yoruba movie. It’s been great but to me, awards are like challenges for you to work harder and compete more with people that are fresh and are willing to do better than you.
How has Nollywood been now compared to when you started off?
It hasn’t been easy oh! I started way back, almost 12years now and I thank God for the achievement so far. It’s not by power or might because some people have been here for several years and haven’t achieved one single thing to the credit of what they have been doing. But I thank God that 12 years ago when I started I never knew it would be this big, I remember when I started then, I wanted people to know my name not the face but I have remained in the faces of people. However, I have been able to produce and have my name attached to a flick, I’m also working on producing TV shows. In short, I thank God because starting and getting to this height is by His grace. Before now, there was nothing like all this gadgets and now, I still wonder how we used to get across to each other to come to location or for a job unlike now that you get pings or calls telling you when you should come on set. But then you either get a letter or go to a business centre to receive calls and all that but now technology has made it more easier but I think we still need more improvement and finance from corporate bodies to make our entertainment industry more attractive and encourage our effort because it’s sad to see colleagues in the industry for several decades and they can’t even afford to get a 3 square meal and I feel we should get stronger in unity so that people can come around help the industry to grow bigger than it is.
How actually did it all begin for you?
Funny enough, I didn’t join the drama group while in school but I play a lot with my friends and family members, who always tease me to join a drama group. It was actually my pastor’s son at The Apostolic church that told me about Papa Ajasco’s auditioning and the first time, he told me about it, I couldn’t make it and the second time, I went for my aunt’s wedding and I was planning to rush down to Charity busstop and I crossed the express, so I was about completing the cross when a guy tried cautioning me but I thought he wanted to toast me, so I ignored him and I just got into the hands of the law enforcement agency, so I missed the audition. At the third audition, I thought to myself that it wasn’t worth it but reluctantly, I went there with the hope of meeting stars and I was asked to do something and I did to the best of my knowledge and that was it. I remembered I feared meeting Antar Laniyan because I’ve heard that he was strict and I was afraid not to fail and get bashed but it was Wale Adenuga that auditioned me myself and that was it. It was on the set of Papa Ajasco that I met the late Yomi Ogunmola, who was the director and it was Yomi Ogunmola that introduced me to Yoruba movies and got my first role in the movie, Ten Million Naira.
Some believe your face and skin colour has helped you rise in the movie industry while others feel your talent is what actually sold you. Which would you agree sold you?
I would actually say it’s the talent not the face because the face might also add to the credit but it’s the talent that has actually kept me in there because the industry is growing and if you think it’s your fine face, another beautiful person would come and dethrone you, so your talent would sell you. Your talent matters even if you are beautiful because I know that it’s not every producer that wants to sleep with a girl because of role, some want to sell their products and would go for only the best. I think it’s basically the talent. I’m the first to act in my family.
As a beautiful young lady at that time and now, how often do you get producers or directors coming after you for relationship or sex?
It happens but it all depends on how you present and carry yourself as well as how you take your job. Some people are desperate and they would do anything just to get whatever role they want but I’m not the desperate type, so, I believe so much in my talent and God. I’m one of those that believe that whatever is mine would always come to me and whatever is not mine won’t come to me.
Have you had occasions like that?
Well to me it’s like asking me for something and if I can’t offer it or don’twant to offer it, I simply say no. no one would force you, you would always be asked to see how desperate you are and if you say no, no one would force you. No one would rape you if you refuse it, so it’s about your mindset and how you present yourself.
But you used to be married to a director cum producer, was that how you met him?
Funny enough, when I met him, I just came back from a job and I was called up by the location manager and I didn’t want to do the job but she was on my neck and wanted me to do the job for the producer and because she told me that majority of the crew are from the English movies, I decided to do it because I’ve heard a lot about these people been arrogant and all that. I wanted to see how they were but unfortunately, every member of the crew irrespective of their native tongue were so friendly that I kept wondering where the perceived arrogance went. They were so accommodating and that changed my perception about a lot of these colleagues. So, it was on that set that I met him because he was the producer and director of the movie which was Omo Jaiye Jaiye. He would walk up to me and greet me and he was always friendly like others and on that location, we all didn’t want to go and we became friends.
And from friends?
From friends to lovers, marriage and baby!
But didn’t you feel he wanted to take advantage of the fact that he was the producer and director?
No, I didn’t feel that way because we all on the set were so close. The only thing that happened was that we had a general discussion and we joked that handsome guys are players but he defended handsome guys and we just chatted normally and that was just it. It was more like a mutual thing.
So, what happened to the relationship that produced a kid?
Well, I wouldn’t want to discuss that with the public because like you know the future of an individual, who happens to be our son is involved and nothing is more precious to us than his future.
And what is the relationship between you two?
I still see him as a good friend that I met seven (7) years ago or eight (8) now, a good man and the father of my son, whom I wish well in all his endeavours. Things happen in life when you just move on and when there is life, there is certainly hope and you can make amends for any of your mistakes in life. So, we still remain friends.
Did your parents support you then?
Funny enough, my parents were fully in support of what I chose because while I was growing up, I used to watch TV a lot and I would always love to be on TV as a newscaster or on the radio. Even before the audition, I had their blessings and they just said I should always remember who I am and where I’m coming from. In fact, my dad was my biggest fan, he would always tell people that I’m his daughter and they would even tell me what their friends told them about my choice of career.
Can you remember your first pay as an actress?
I’m not sure but I think I was paid N3,000 per episode for Papa Ajasco and I think I got N21,000 for seven episodes that I did but for the film, I think it was N10,000 or N15,000.
So, now as an established act, how much do you charge per role?
Aaah! I can’t divulge that ooh! It’s not business like (laughs)
So, what is the most ridiculous amount anyone can lobby you with for a role?
Hmm! Don’t tell me you want me to come and act for N50,000 (laughs) when my friends earn N50,000 as salary (laughs) Even now, people think it’s cool to shoot a film for free and I just wonder how we would grow and keep our family if we keep doing jobs free. Recently a friend of mine called me and said she had told a certain producer to request for my services but that the producer said I was just too expensive and I said I prefer it that way because I believe every act, who must have paid his or her dues over time need to enjoy the benefit of what he or she has labored for. If we keep doing it free, then how would the investors come and how are we supposed to cater for our needs and that of our families?

COMMISSIONER of Police, Delta State, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, has said there was a new trend in kidnapping in the state, in which children conspire with kidnap syndicates to demand and collect ransom from their parents.
Speaking to Vanguard in an interview, he said from the series of kidnap cases investigated by the police, the emerging pattern showed involvement of insiders.
Speaking to Vanguard in an interview, he said from the series of kidnap cases investigated by the police, the emerging pattern showed involvement of insiders.
Aduba, who described the development as shocking, said: "Brothers now plot and kidnap brothers in the state to extort money from their parents, while children set up their parents for kidnappers."
He, however, said "there is no state that it is crime free. It is not where you have one or two crimes, you generalize it that there is crime everywhere. We have a very strong anti-crime mechanism in the state. Twenty four hours, our men on always on the street."
According to him, "recently in the state, a kidnapped victim in Warri and all of them who kidnapped him, including an undergraduate, were found to be children of same parents. They stage-managed the kidnap to defraud their own father.
"When we told their father that there was an insider's factor, he did not believe. It involved the entire family. He thought we were joking, but three of his sons were involved. Even the one kidnapped was part of the game. The man broke down when the facts unfolded before him.
"There was also a particular case in which a boy wanted to dupe his father of N30 million that he had been kidnapped. At the end of the day, we retrieved the boy in a native doctor's place."
Aduba said police were not magicians and needed information from members of the public.
He said:"We follow up, but when the people chicken out, what do you expect the police to do? The one in Issele-Uku, we were following up, all of sudden, the family chickened out."

(surname withheld), allegedly raised the alarm declaring that his male organ had disappeared.
According to Ibrahim, who was seen naked before some men, Sadiq had paid him a visit last night and deep into the night, he began to have sex with him.
When P.M.NEWS visited the scene, Ibrahim’s penis was of normal size, but he was making efforts to make it turgid as a proof that it was fully restored.
Ibrahim, who is also a squatter in the house, alleged that it was the first time Sadiq would be visiting him.
Though they have been friends for some time now, Ibrahim said he never knew his friend was gay until last night.
Sadiq, in a confessional statement to local vigilantes at the scene of the incident, said he has been homosexual for the past three years.
He denied snatching his friend’s male organ, but said he had engaged only men in sex since then and further indicted a prophet whose white garment church is within the community as the one who prepared the concoction with which he engages in the act.
However, the prophet, who was invited by the vigilantes, denied the allegation.
He said he had known Sadiq as one who never chased after women and did not know that the man was gay.
Neighbours told P.M.NEWS that the owner of the one-room apartment where the incident occurred lives and works in Lagos and only visits the place at weekends.
Sadiq was later whisked away by the vigilantes after much plea to stop beating him was rebuffed by the people of the area.
Nigeria frowns at gay practice and recently passed a law that stipulates a 14-year jail term for offenders.
