The President of the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has said that the main reason why Nigeria is still facing the insurgency situation in  Nigeria is because Nigerians are pretenders and they run away from the truth, they covers the truth.

He stated this while speaking at the Northern State Christian Elders Forum (NOSCEF) Traditional Ruler Conference in Abuja, saying the greatest war Nigeria is fighting presently, is the war against truth.

Pastor Oritsejafor said, “Nigeria is fighting against truth. We hate truth, we hide truth and we fear truth. It is so unfortunate. In John 8:32, Jesus said you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free. Nigeria is not free because we are running away from truth. Truth can be bitter, but when you swallow it, when it gets inside, it could become sweet.

I thought that balanced reportage had to do with getting both sides of the story. Soyinka-AND-Jonathan
Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, says President Goodluck Jonathan is worse than Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, describing Jonathan as a President that embraces impunity. While speaking at a press conference at the Freedom Park in Lagos today, with the theme: “King Nebuchadnezzar – the reign of impunity,” Prof Wole Soyinka said Pres. Jonathan’s administration has become known for lawlessness and that Nigerians have been thrown into the furnace of fire just like Shedrack, Mishak and Abednego were thrown into the furnace by Nebuchadnezzar for not bowing down to him. read what he said below.....

"You should easily recall why I opted for King Nebu – the figure that currently sits on the top of our political pile himself evoked it, albeit in a context that virtuously disclaimed any similarities, even tendencies. Perhaps he meant it at the time when he claimed: ‘I am not Nebuchadnezzar.’ Perhaps not. One judges leaders on acts however, not pronouncements, which are often as reliable as electoral promises. King Nebu remains

Boko Haram: America not Nigeria's friend, says Gowon

Click for Full Image Size

A former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon  has taken a swipe at the United States on its refusal to sell arms to Nigeria to fight the insurgency by the Islamic group, Boko Haram. Gowon, in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, criticised the US for not selling military hardware to Nigeria, saying if the US was truly a diplomatic friend to Nigeria, it should do everything possible to keep the corporate existence of Nigeria. This, according to him, includes assisting Nigeria to fight aggression from any quarter.

The US had on November 12, 2014, defended its refusal to sell cobra helicopters to Nigeria, saying the Federal Government was free to buy fighter jets from any other country.

The State Department's spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said, 'Nigeria has purchased helicopters that originated in countries other than the US and nothing in our decision prevents Nigeria from obtaining weapons and equipment from other sources,'

Psaki had reacted to the allegation by the Nigerian Ambassador to the US, Prof. Adebowale Adefuye, that Washington declined to sell arms to Nigeria.

Sacking Me Won’t Solve The Problem - Stephen Keshi

After missing out on qualification for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Stephen Keshi said sacking him will do nothing to reverse the downward trend the Eagles are currently experiencing, insisting the problems goes beyond him.
“If a team fails, sacking the coach won’t solve the problem. The authority should look beyond the coach to find solutions to the problem,” Keshi said.

Keshi, who has been working without a contract since the expiration of his last deal after the World Cup, admitted that failure to qualify for next year’s AFCON is failure on his part.

“I can’t deny it is a shame that we failed to qualify,on my part I failed the nation but my players took South Africa for granted,a match they had to win.”
His agent Emma Addo was, however, silent on his client’s future but echoed Keshi’s sentiment that the problem of the team goes beyond the coach.
