Fayose replies Tunji Abayomi, says he's a hypocrite

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described Dr Tunji Abayomi as a hypocrite not worthy of the attention sane minds.
   "Nigerians should ask Tunji Abayomi where he was when former Governor Kayode Fayemi used 12 Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) lawmakers to confirm the appointment of Local Government Caretaker Committee in 2010 while the Speaker then, Hon Tunji Odeyemi and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers were in Abuja to meet with the president and the Deputy Speaker, Hon Saliu Adeoti was dead." he said.

Governor Fayose, who was reacting to the letter titled; "Your threat to peace, order and governance leadership in the Ekiti State House of Assembly," through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said Dr Abayomi should stop dancing naked in the market place, exposing his naked hypocrisy.

President Obama Offers Legal Status to Millions of Undocumented Immigrants

President Obama on Thursday defended the actions he's taking to shield about 5 million immigrants in the U.S. illegally from deportation as "lawful" and consistent with what his predecessors have done.

"I continue to believe that the best way to solve this problem is by working together to pass that kind of common sense law," the president said. "But until that happens, there are actions I have the legal authority to take as President - the same kinds of actions taken by Democratic and Republican presidents before me - that will help make our immigration system more fair and more just."

"The actions I'm taking are not only lawful, they're the kinds of actions taken by every single Republican president and every single Democratic president for the past half century," Mr. Obama added.

The actions he outlined will grant a reprieve from deportation to about 5 million immigrants in the U.S. illegally and allow them to apply for a three-year work permit if they can pass a background check, register with the government, submit biometric data, and establish they are eligible for relief.

Synagogue Building Collapse: 'Strange Craft' Identified As NAF CH 130 Hercules

The Nigerian Police on Wednesday said the “strange ‎aircraft” that allegedly hovered over the collapsed Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) building was a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) CH 130 Hercules.

A police witness, Olusola Agboyi (DSP) while testifying before Coroner Oyetade Komolafe yesterday, stated that the aircraft, which was on a circuit training mission, flew at very low altitude.

He said: “I recorded statements from 34 witnesses who claimed the aircraft was flying very low and had caused panic among residents of the Ikotun area.”

Agboyi stated that preliminary reports suggested the foreign guesthouse might have caved-in as a result of internal saboteurs-visitors or lodgers at the premises.

The witness, who said he led the team that investigated the collapse and was also a member of the Federal Government’s panel, posited that the saboteur, undetected, could have used explosives or chemical substances to bring down the building.

One of Nigeria’s most powerful Muslim leaders, the emir of Kano, has adviced the civilians to Defend Themselves Against Boko Haram, and not to Rely On Military
The comments were made by Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who became emir earlier this year after being sacked from his post as the central bank governor, where he was one of the government’s most high-profile critics.

It is extremely rare for Nigeria’s clerics to speak explicitly about political and military affairs, but many expected Sanusi to defy convention and inject himself into public debate after assuming the highly influential post.

“People should be sensitised on the importance of being on the alert. And they should prepare, they should acquire what they will defend themselves with,” Sanusi said during Friday prayers at the central mosque in Kano, the largest city in Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north.

AFP obtained a copy of the transcript of the recording on Monday. While Sanusi did not mention Boko Haram by name, it was clear he was discussing efforts to resist the Islamist rebels.

Lagos Lawyer Sebastian Jidonu Demand Justice Over Police Brutality

On October 18, Mr. Jidonu had gone to the office of Area K commander, Osung Ekpo, to secure the release of a tipper belonging to his client, a member of the First Nigerian Tipper Drivers Association, Badagry Branch.

The tipper was confiscated by members of a rival union, Union of Tipper and Quarry Employers of Nigeria, UTQEN, who allegedly set up an unauthorised tollgate at the Iyafin Bridge in Badagry in collaboration with the police. Jonathan has abandoned Nigerians – Oyegun

14 Passengers Burn To Death In Kwara Accident

About 14 passengers were burnt to death on Wednesday  In Kwara State when a fully loaded tanker collided with a truck conveying passengers and cattle along Ogbomoso-Jebba Road.

47 people killed in bombing outside Nigerian school; Boko Haram suspected

At least 47 people have been killed and 79 were wounded Monday by a suicide bombing outside a school in northern Nigeria, police said. The attacker was disguised as a student when he set off the explosion in a government boarding school in the town of Potiskum, police spokesman Emmanuel Ojukwu said.

"We suspect Boko Haram is behind the attack," Ojukwu said.

The explosion took place at 7:50 a.m. local time outside the principal's office, where students had gathered for a daily speech.

"We were waiting for our teachers to come and address us at the assembly ground when we heard a huge explosion," student Adamu Ibrahim said.

It was not immediately clear how many of the casualties were students.
