Stella Damasus speaks on the "Assassination attempt"

Some days ago, Stella Damasus' home in Abuja was invaded by hired assassins, they wanted to 'Shut her Up' for always speaking against the government when it comes to social ills in Nigeria.
In a press statement sent out to BN, the actress who is currently based in the US, confirmed the story and said...

"All I will say is that no matter what anyone tries to do, it will not stop me from speaking the truth and standing up for the rights of women and young girls. These are the kind of things that make people scared and run away from standing up for their rights. It’s a pity that we say Nigeria is a democratic country, but where is the democracy when people cannot speak their minds for fear of threats like this or danger of being killed.

Fears: Villagers Unable To Bury Too Many Corpses of Boko Haram Victims In Borno(Graphic Photo)

Fresh fears have gripe the community of borno as the possibility of an epidemic spreading across the State due to the fact that villagers are unable to bury the large number of corpses that litter their communities. Over recent weeks, terrorist sect Boko Haram has stepped up its attacks on villages across the state and many areas are currently littered with dead bodies. Due to fears of fresh attacks, many of these villages are now deserted as local people are fearful of returning to their homes, which has resulted in bodies being left to rot out in the open. Community leaders who have fled to the state capital Maiduguri, have now raised the alarm, saying that unless something is done soon, there could be an outbreak of disease.
They added that many of their people are trapped in the mountains and hills without food or water and have not eaten for days. Lawan John, the district head of one of the wards in Gwoza Local Government Area, which was recently attacked, said that 109 people had so far been buried since the attacks started but many more bodies are still lying in the streets. He added: “Corpses still litter our communities because we don’t have access to the villages as the insurgents were still hanging around.
