Nigeria will clock 54 years as an independent country in few days time (October 1st) with the government declaring Wednesday a public holiday to mark the 54yrs anniversary.
Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, said in a statement on Thursday that the country’s citizens should build a more united and virile nation that could be the pride of all its people wherever they live.
He enjoined all Nigerians to use the period of the holiday to reflect on the “giant strides made by
government in the development of the country under the transformation and visionary leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The minister wished all Nigerians a happy Independence holiday celebrations.
