Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, the Designer Of Nigerian Flag get honoured at last by President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja today. President Goodluck Jonathan today conferred the national award on Pa Akinkunmi, the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) award. He also placed Pa. Akinkunmi on a life time salary.
The president while giving an express approval for the placement of Pa Akinkunmi on a lifetime salary said his salary should be the equivalent of a Senior Special Adviser to the president.
The 55yrs old Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi, popularly called Mr. Flag Man. was born on 10th May 1936 in Ibadan. He is married with a wife and kids, He always wear the colors of the Flag he designed as part of his attire, usually wearing a green Yoruba cap, and painted he his house with a green white green pattern.
Among those who were honoured at the ceremony today, which was held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja were, a traffic warden, Cpl. Solomon Dauda; Mr. Onuh Isaac Michael, and a a taxi driver, Mr. Imeh Usuah.
