8 KILLED AS UNKNOWN GUNMEN ATTACK APO, ABUJA (VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED)

 

Early this morning, armed men dressed in Army uniform, invaded the National Assembly legislative quarters in Apo, Abuja, 
  It was gathered that the gunmen struck at about 2:30am on Friday, firing several gunshots that shattered the peaceful neighbourhood.
The  Reasons for the attack is unknown, but about ten persons were shot by the assailants.
Unconfirmed reports say eight were killed, while two others were injured.

A resident of Apo  said  “I heard the gunshots. Those living around the naigbhourhood there said about ten people were shot just behind the mosque inside the quarters”.

 Efforts to get the reaction of Mr. Femi Ogunbayode, Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, proved abortive as calls to his mobile line went unanswered.
He has not replied a text message by our reporter as at the time of filling this report.
